How You Can Lose Weight and Stay Healthy in the Process

According to the CDC (Center for Disease Control and Prevention), obesity in adults has increased by 60% within the past twenty years and obesity in children has tripled in the past thirty years.
Some diseases which are related to overweight/obesity are cancer, stroke, diabetes, heart diseases, arthritis and hypertension (high blood pressure).
If we take care of our diet as in the amounts of food and read on labels the nutritional values of food then that goes a long way to help us lose those unwanted lbs and help us lead a better lifestyle.
Losing weight quickly is not recommended and going on these quick weight loss diets is not the answer. You may find you lose the weight quickly only to find that you will put it on twice as fast and maybe more so steer clear of these quick fixes because they just don't work.
Losing weight is a slow methodical process and has to be done right to allow your body to adjust to its new healthy lifestyle choice that you have made. The maximum safe weight loss is 2 lbs per week you may not even achieve that amount some weeks.
Let's start by saying never skip meals and especially breakfast. Eating a healthy filling breakfast gets your metabolism working so as to burn fat during the day. Your body will not tolerate you giving it insufficient food as it needs fuel to give you energy to keep you going throughout the day.
So let's just say that if you were to eat one huge sandwich in one day, this is going to defeat the purpose as it will end up straight to your problem area i.e. thighs, buttocks, hips etc. Eating 5 meals smaller per day instead of say 3 large meals in the day then your metabolism will function efficiently and burn calories quicker.
The dreaded word "diet" this isn't necessarily a bad way to lose weight, some people regard "the diet solution program" as skipping meals and not eating enough, but the way to look at the word "diet" is eating a sensible smaller nutritional meals frequently as mentioned in the previous paragraph is the way to do it.
Drinking plenty of water and that means 8 pint per day or as near to that as you can but drink water as this helps to burn calories, hydrates and keeps the cells healthy and if you haven't been drinking a lot of water previously then some of your weight around the middle could be attributed to this simple fix.
Fruit and vegetables, it is recommended that you need five of them per day, chicken, turkey, lean meat especially if the cattle have been fed on grass which would need to be purchased from a local butcher shop and not a supermarket as they will have been grain fed. Whole meals, fish especially healthy oily fish such as sardines, mackerel, salmon and fresh tuna etc, carbohydrates such as wholemeal breads, rice and pasta.
Once you have organized your eating program then to add to your weight loss regime try some exercise to speed things up. Brisk walks are great to get the heart pumping and the oxygen flowing round your body, cycling or an exercise bike. Swimming is a great way to exercise as the resistance of the water works your muscles without the same strain as say work outs in the gym.
Remember to eat healthy foods, exercise and you should see the lbs melt away every time you look into the mirror.
