Achieving Optimum Health With the Caveman Paleolithic Diet

There are a lot of diet regimens continually being introduced to the public nowadays. The cavemen Paleolithic diet, also known as the hunter-gatherer diet or as the Blueprint diet, was conceived based on the idea that the humans before our time were healthier and stronger than we are today. Essentially, the diet followed by the cavemen was different from what humans today eat in so many ways.
What sets the caveman Paleo diet apart from many diets known today is that its main part is protein. Meat and eggs are the main sources of protein in this diet. The cavemen consumed a lot of animal protein since they were good hunters. Aside from animal meat, fish and other seafood are also encouraged in the Paleo diet. However, the animals where the meat will be derived from should be grown naturally and fed with natural and organic feeds.
Vegetables are also a vital part of the Paleo diet. If you follow the Blueprint diet, you should consume vegetables in its raw form as much as possible. Although you can also cook it, only vegetables that can apparently be eaten in its raw form are permitted in the diet.
Meanwhile, almost all fruits are allowed in the Paleo diet. However, due to its high sugar content, fruits should be consumed moderately. Dried fruits and fruit juices should be avoided since the cavemen did not know how to dry and juice fruits back then.
Moreover, seeds and nuts are also acceptable in the Blueprint diet. But if you wish to lose weight, you should minimize your consumption of these types of food sources because it has high calorie content. Dairy is not permitted in this diet, however. You should get enough calcium from coconut milk and almonds instead. Natural oils, proteins and minerals that nuts contain make them excellent components of the Blueprint diet.
There are also some oils allowed in the Paleo diet such as nut oils, olive oil and flax seed oils. Fish oils are also widely accepted. As for beverages, water and tea can be consumed, as well as small amounts of fruit and vegetable juices.
